Greetings from Alexandria, Egypt-the Host City of the Youth Employment Summit in September 2002. I am tired-jet lagged, been in and out of meetings and touring the city by night! Some one should be here to tuck me into bed so that I don't get sleepy in workshops:)
Alexandria is beautiful. it has this waterfront/Coronation that looks somewhat like the Malecon in Cuba... well, kind of!
I feel so excited about the Youth Employment Summit and what we will achieve-then my feelings get all mixed up as I walk through the streets and the poverty in some places leaps out at me and I think... when will we end it? People can't live like this for longer: it will be disasterous!
Anyway, visit our site www.youthemploymentsummit.org
Send me an email, and I'll tell you more about how you can help us create employment opportunities for youth around the world. Perhaps you have ideas that could change the world!
I love North Africa... it has a different vibe to the Souther part and yet some things remain constant. The warmth and carinho!
Just to think I have to return to the cold of New England next week! ahha!
